Seems like I have an awful lot of '50s sci-fi movies on DVD, but there's still a lot that needs to be released. Here's my short list of stuff I needs real bad (but not bad enough to buy overpriced boots). Some have legal problems, some the studio(s) seems disinterested in releasing and some are being held for ransom. Which movies can't get to DVD fast enough for you?
Five The 27th Day Gog The Magnetic Monster Riders to the Stars The Amazing Colossal Man It Conquered The World Invasion of the Saucer-Men I Was A Teenage Werewolf I Was A Teenage Frankenstein Attack of the Crab Monsters Not of this Earth World Without End The Colossus of New York The Space Children The Monster of Piedras Blancas The Quartermass Xperiment Quartermass II

I wonder if it would be worthwhile for anyone to get a boot copy and "remaster" it... sort of re-bootleg, but improve?? haha
Im in the process of doing this to my VHS tape of DISNEY'S SCARY TALES
I digitized the VHS and im going in and making the colrs sharper, unfading it a bit in sections, etc...
PLUTOS JUDGMENT DAY is just a goner any way you look at it.. haha.. what an awful transfer!

I remember hearing about the family of Arkoff? holding back?? Hi Bill! Susan Nicholson is the one holding out on those titles. Arkoff's stuff got released a couple of years ago. (Colossal Beast, The Spider, Day The World Ended, She Creature, etc.) May have to go with boots to get some of those titles? A few of those I have taped off of TCM and that's good enough for me, till there's an official DVD release.

If the bootleg is from a good source (studio released VHS or LD), I don't mind getting those. I'd rather have someone burn me a DVD from their collection than pay 15 bucks for a DVD-R, though. Don't wanna get stuck with no 5th generation dupe from a teevee broadcast that's been "edited for time and to fit your screen"!

My friends Dad worked on The Magnetic Monster - I THINK-
He worked on a movie that they cut part of the beginning out of to add to another film.. So they either cut out a piece of MM to add to another, or they cut out a piece of his film to add to MM..
Ill ask him!

So they either cut out a piece of MM to add to another, or they cut out a piece of his film to add to MM.. The main stock footage used in "Magnetic Monster" was from the early '30s German SF movie "Gold" (the expensive looking flashy sparky effects stuff).

His dad owned a production company in the 50s called Rampart Productions.. IMDb shows them only producing two movies, both in 1948. I think your friend must have his titles mixed up. Everything indicates that MM was a Tors project from the beginning.
