What do you think? Is GODZILLA a B Movie??
I have never really thought of it as a true B film, but it sure seems to have all the right parts!!
However, how many B movies have 26 sequels??

I think that's one of those "eye of the beholder" things. Originally, the "B" movie was the second feature on a double bill. Since they were mostly low budget flicks, "B" came to mean "low budget" and since they were often considered (by critics, anyway) of low quality, the "B" eventually came to stand for "bad".
Godzilla a "B"? I'm sure some people see all monster movies as "B" movies. I'd call it an "A-". I don't think the filmmakers were just cranking out exploitation fodder, even if their budget was a modest one.

I agree for the most part.. I just thought of it while watching FINAL WARS the other night..
It's not a B in the sense of it being the second film..
But it sort of falls into the modern B definition... Hokey effects, big monster, etc... Not to mention the whole "Atomic age" paranoia behind it!!!
